Welcome

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to look at this microsite. For us, the Leaders and Mayors of the 5 Host London Boroughs, the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and represent a once in a lifetime chance to make a tangible and lasting difference to the communities we serve. As individual Boroughs, we stand to gain an enormous amount from the Olympic Games – and by working together the effect will multiply significantly.

This is where we will be relying on you, the Executive Director for the 5 Boroughs Programme, to pull everything together. This role means maximising the opportunities available to us, highlighting new and innovative ideas, developing them and seeing the results bear fruit. We will be looking to you to act as our link to the various key bodies, keeping us informed of developments and helping us identify new and exciting prospects for our communities. The role will be a vital part of our aim to achieve a lasting legacy from the London Games, and we are looking for successes now as well as in the future. You will need to be community minded, able to engage with all of our diverse neighbourhoods and work towards bringing them the benefits they want and need. If you want to see the results of your work translated into positive action on the ground, then there are few roles to match this.

We hope that you will be enthused by what you read in these pages, and that you feel sufficiently inspired to apply.

We look forward to hearing from you.
